Greaves Makes PDC History with Stunning Win

When it comes to youngsters making history in the PDC, there is only one name we are used to hearing: Luke Littler. However, on the 27th of April 2026, another young player, aged just 22, accomplished something almost as seismic as anything The Nuke has achieved.

Doncaster’s Beau Greaves, or “Beau ‘n’ Arrow” if you prefer, broke through into the wider world of casual darts fans when she beat Littler in the semis of the PDC World Youth Championship in 2025. The youth event is open to players aged 16 to 23, and while Greaves is just over three years older than the two-time world champion it was clearly a huge, huge victory for her.

However, as big a deal as the World Youth Championship is, it is clearly not a huge priority for Littler. It has been won by Gian van Veen (he beat Greaves in the 2025 final and also won in 2024), Littler himself in 2023, and Luke Humphries in 2019. Moreover, the fact that The Nuke decided to enter at all shows the respect he has for the tournament.

But ultimately it offers little in terms of prize money, has limited prestige and, given that several past winners have failed to go on to great things, is hardly a perfect predictor of future success. Beating Littler in the tournament was a massive scalp for Greaves but despite her previously claiming that she didn’t believe men and women should compete against each other, her ambitions are higher than winning a semi-final of a youth event.

Greaves Wins PDC Ranking Event

Women have been edging closer to men in the world of darts over the past five years or so. A big breakthrough came in 2020 when Fallon Sherrock became the first woman to win a match at the PDC World Darts Championship. She won her second round match too but since then no woman has managed to win again.

At the most recent tournament, there were a record five women in the draw, including Greaves. All lost in the first round, although Greaves took the 22nd seed, Daryl Gurney to a decider and outscored him. Gurney labelled his opponent “the best woman darts player on the planet”, and there are several reasons to argue that case.

Now, though, she can be considered among the leading players full stop, after her victory in the Players Championship 11. She became the first woman ever to win a PDC ranking event and did it in real style too. She beat Michael Smith 8-7 in the final of the Milton Keynes tournament, completing finishes of 170 and then, in the decider, a brilliant 142.

Her checkout percentage in the final was an incredible 80% and she hardly missed a dart when it mattered. She also scored heavily, averaging 96.49, and while Smith is not at his best right now, he won the World Championship as recently as 2023. He is also a former winner of the World Youth Championship.

In addition to that brilliant display in the final, Greaves had previously shown her ability under pressure when battling past another former world champion in the quarters. She edged out the 2018 World Darts Championship winner Rob Cross 8-7 before battering yet another former world champ in the semis.

Gary Anderson is 55 now, but has two world title to his name, made the semis of the 2026 worlds and is still ranked number 11. Greaves destroyed the Scot 7-1 and after winning the final said, “I beat Gary Anderson – I can’t believe it. Even beating Michael – I’m beating players I watched growing up. Hopefully I can kick on and keep doing it.”

She also commented, echoing her earlier lack of belief that women could really contend against the best men, that she “never thought I’d win one of these, never ever”. But now she has, and she has re-written what was thought possible.

Dominant Among the Women, Ready to Step up Now

Greaves has dominated against her own sex for some time now. Indeed, playing in the PDC Women’s Series she put together a 114-match winning streak that was only ended by Sherrock in March 2026. Both players averaged over 100 in that match, which shows the level the best women are at. Greaves had won 17 tournaments in a row, and it took something special to stop her.

A month earlier she had made history by becoming the first woman to hit a nine-darter on the PDC ProTour, doing so against Mensur Suljovic. She has slowly but surely been gaining more and more confidence and belief that she can, despite past reservations, mix it with the men. With each milestone she reaches that can only grow and now she should be set upon moving much higher up the world rankings.

Now ranked 79th in the world, Greaves has the game to push on. Beating Littler gave her a huge confidence boost and if she can keep riding that wave and keep working hard, who knows how far her ability can take her?
